Profile
YU Gang (余刚) is a Principal Research Scientist at StepFun (阶跃星辰). He earned his Ph.D. from Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in 2014, supervised by Prof. Junsong Yuan.
Before joining StepFun, he was a Research Director at Tencent for four years and spent five years at Megvii (Face++). His research focuses on computer vision and generative AI, including object detection, segmentation, human keypoint detection, human action recognition, and 3D reconstruction.
He has served as an Area Chair for CVPR 2024/2025/2026, ICCV 2025, and NeurIPS 2025, and as Innovation Program (Industry) Chair for ICME 2024. His team has published extensively at CVPR, ICCV, NeurIPS, ICLR, and ECCV.
