HUI Binyuan (惠彬原)

HUI Binyuan (惠彬原, born 1999) is a Senior Research Scientist at Meta, having joined in January 2026. He was a child prodigy who entered university at age 15.
He earned his M.S. from Tianjin University. He joined Alibaba DAMO Academy's Intelligent Dialogue Team as an intern, then became a full-time employee after graduation.
At Alibaba's Tongyi Lab, he served as algorithm expert and lead of Qwen Code (Qwen series model code training). He was a core contributor to Qwen series papers and participated in the 'Hundred Famous Enterprises Entering Campus' lecture series.
He left Alibaba in January 2026 and joined Meta. His research focuses on NLP, semantic parsing, intelligent dialogue, and large-scale pre-trained models.
He published the paper 'STAR: SQL Guided Pre-Training for Context-dependent Text-to-SQL Parsing' at EMNLP 2022 and contributed to TableQA technology that topped multiple leaderboards.
