JIANG Daxin (姜大昕) is the co-founder and CEO of StepFun (阶跃星辰), a Shanghai-based AI company focused on multimodal foundation models. He earned his Ph.D. in Computer Science from the State University of New York at Buffalo, and served as an Assistant Professor at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore before joining Microsoft Research Asia (MSRA) as a Principal Researcher in 2007.
He later became a Corporate Vice President at Microsoft and served as Deputy Managing Director and Chief Scientist at Microsoft's Search Technology Center Asia (STCA). He founded StepFun in 2023 and was named an IEEE Fellow in 2024.
He was also selected as one of the '2025 AI Figures of the Year' by China AI Festival.
