LIN Junyang (林俊旸) was the Tech Lead of Alibaba's Qwen team before resigning on March 3, 2026. His departure triggered a significant restructuring at Alibaba's Tongyi Lab.
Following his resignation, Zhou Hao (formerly of Google DeepMind) was appointed as the new Qwen tech lead, and Zhou Jingren was elevated to head the newly upgraded Tongyi Large Model Business Division.
