LUAN Jian (栾剑)
(former) Head of Xiaomi AI Lab large-model team (April 2023–2025)
LUAN Jian (栾剑) was the head of Xiaomi AI Lab's large model team from April 2023. He is a well-known AI expert who previously served as Chief Speech Scientist at Microsoft Xiaobing (Microsoft XiaoIce), Senior Speech Scientist at Microsoft (China) Engineering Institute, and a researcher at Toshiba (China) Research Institute.
He has over 20 years of experience in speech and language technology research, covering voiceprint recognition, speech synthesis, speech recognition, singing synthesis, human-machine dialogue, machine translation, large language models, and multimodal large models. He has published over 100 papers.
At Xiaomi, he led the development of MiLM, MiMM, X-Studio (AI singing synthesis), and super-realistic speech synthesis systems. He reported to Wang Bin, Director of Xiaomi AI Lab.
