BAI Shuai (白帅)

BAI Shuai (白帅) is a Senior Algorithm Expert at Alibaba's Qwen team, where he leads the Qwen vision-language model line. He is the lead author of the Qwen3-VL Technical Report.

He graduated from Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications (BUPT). His research areas include visual representation, multimodal learning, and visual unified understanding and generation.

He has published numerous papers at top conferences with over 9,500 citations. He is responsible for developing the Qwen-VL series of models, which have become among the most widely used open-source vision-language models globally.
