SU Jianlin (苏剑林)

SU Jianlin (苏剑林) is a researcher at Moonshot AI, known as the 'God of Math' (苏神) in the Chinese AI community. He is the originator of RoPE (Rotary Position Embedding), a widely adopted positional encoding technique used in many large language models including LLaMA and the Qwen series.

At Moonshot AI, he contributed to the Kimi Linear architecture and the Attention Residuals paper that impressed Elon Musk. He has published 46 papers with over 7,700 citations and an h-index of 23.

He maintains the popular science blog kexue.fm. At Moonshot, he co-authored a paper on Attention Residuals with a 17-year-old high school student (first author) and Zhang Yu (Kimi Linear first author), which improved training efficiency by 25%.
