WANG Bin (王斌)
Director, Xiaomi AI Lab; Vice Chairman of Xiaomi Technical Committee
WANG Bin (王斌) is the Director of Xiaomi AI Lab and Vice Chairman of the Xiaomi Technical Committee. He joined Xiaomi in 2018 from the Chinese Academy of Sciences where he was a researcher and Ph.D. advisor for over 20 years, leading information retrieval and NLP teams at the Institute of Computing Technology and Institute of Information Engineering.
He holds a Ph.D. from the Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. At Xiaomi, he oversees the company's AI strategy, including the AI Lab which is the core department for Xiaomi's AI initiatives.
The AI Lab focuses on NLP, computer vision, speech, and large model research, supporting products like Xiao Ai (小爱同学), IoT, autonomous driving, and robotics. Under his leadership, Xiaomi's large model team was formally established in April 2023 with Luan Jian as the team lead.
