YIN Qi (印奇, born 1988) is the Chairman of StepFun (阶跃星辰) since January 2026, Chairman of Megvii (旷视科技), and Chairman of Qianli Technology (千里科技), Geely's autonomous driving subsidiary. He is a prominent figure in China's AI industry who co-founded Megvii in 2011, one of the 'AI Four Dragons' (四小龙) specializing in computer vision and Face++.
After Megvii's IPO attempts (Hong Kong 2019, STAR Market 2021-2024) were unsuccessful and the company withdrew its application in December 2024, Yin pivoted to lead StepFun. He holds degrees from Tsinghua University (Yao Class/姚班) and Columbia University (master's).
In January 2026, StepFun announced over 5 billion yuan (~$690M+) B+ round funding with Yin as Chairman, overseeing strategy, capital, and commercialization while CEO Jiang Daxin leads R&D.
