ZHAO Pengyu (赵鹏宇, born ~1995, aged 29 in 2025) is the Executive Director and Large Language Model Research Leader at MiniMax. He joined MiniMax in August 2023 as an NLP researcher and engineer.
He holds a B.S. (2017) and M.S. (2020) in Computer Science from Peking University. Before joining MiniMax, he worked at Beijing Hulu Technology as a research software development engineer focusing on recommendation algorithms (August 2020 - July 2023).
He was appointed Executive Director in June 2025 and leads MiniMax's LLM research and engineering efforts. He is also a co-author of MiniMax's MiniMax-01 technical report.
